Partners for 2024-25 Cohort
WHAT
Merlion Exchange Program [Merlion ExP] is an online exchange platform connecting undergraduate students in ASEAN countries. This program is an extra-curricular activity supported by partner universities in the region.
Our aim is to provide an innovative program to raise cross-cultural awareness and create opportunities for sustainability in practice. We promote collaboration, reflection and autonomy.
The unique feature of Merlion ExP is to pair students using peer-to-peer learning which gives a great opportunity to bond and work closely together.
Merlion ExP was set up in 2021 in Singapore and joined Arcy in 2024.
Annual Process:

1-Promotion and recruitment done by Universities with the support of the Merlion ExP team. Usually this is done by the designated School Coordinators trained by the Merlion ExP team.

2-Merlion ExP Leadership Team evaluates and matches participants into a pair of independent teams.

3-Series of ExP 1 to ExP 6 monthly online sessions, usually for 1 or 2 hours facilitated by the Merlion ExP team. We use Peer-to-Peer teaching techniques. This series of sessions culminates with team identifying their Sustainability Challenge.

4-Merlion ExP offers to participants various Challenges focusing on Awareness, Collaboration and Problem identification of Environmental and Social issues in ASEAN.

5-We collaborate with various partners such WWF Singapore in 2023/24, and will collaborate with Seven Clean Seas and a Traveloka.com in 2024/25.
HOW
At Merlion ExP, we strongly believe that extra-curriculum activities are the best to foster
collaboration and awareness with a regional ASEAN lens.
Beyond the classrooms, participants will increase their confidence in exchanging stories, facts and ideas.
Peer to Peer learning become the best tool to go through this program.
We use Talent LMS for the Digital Portal for an integrated user experience.
